1. Spring principle: Check valves are usually equipped with a spring inside, which generates a rebound force under fluid pressure, making the valve disc tightly fit the valve seat and preventing fluid backflow. When the pressure of the fluid exceeds the rebound force of the valve disc spring, the valve disc will open, allowing the fluid to pass through.
2. Drainage principle: There is also a drainage hole on the check valve, which is used to allow the liquid in the pipeline to flow to the drainage hole when the supply of liquid is stopped, reducing the pressure of the liquid inside the pipeline, making it easier for the spring to push the valve disc to the closed position, preventing liquid backflow.
3. Principle of gravity: In some special check valves, the principle of gravity can be used to prevent fluid backflow. When the fluid pressure exceeds the liquid level below the valve disc, the valve disc will automatically close to prevent liquid backflow. This working principle is commonly found in vertical check valves or ball check valves in vertical pipelines.
4. Hydraulic principle: Some check valves also work through hydraulic force. When liquids pass through valves, they generate a force that opens the valve disc. When the liquid flows back, the hydraulic force will gradually and slowly close the valve disc to prevent backflow.
In general, the structural working principle of a check valve is to use springs, drainage, gravity, or hydraulic force to open the valve disc in forward flow and close it in reverse flow, thereby achieving the function of preventing fluid from flowing in the opposite direction.
