The CHECK VALVE is highly loads unit that is subjected to wear. Another essential point is that the design of the CHECK VALVE should avoid dead spots, where the polymer is not replaced within a short time. A dead spot leads to an increased residence time and degradation of the material, and it always causes frequently used for CHECK VALVES.

The essential parts of this check valve is the sliding ring, which is in the forward position during plasticizing, thus opening a cross section between seat and sliding ring for the polymer melt to flow into the screw chamber. During injection the sliding ring is in the backward position, resting tightly on the seat ring and sealing the screw tip to the screw channels.
