swing check valves and angle check valves
Swing Check Valves are a straight pipe device in which a flap is held closed by a spring. The flap is pushed open by the pressure of the fluid being pumped; if any pressure is put against the spring side of the flap it closes, thus preventing backflow.
The function of the angle Check Valve is similar to that of the swing check valve. The primary difference is the shape. The flap and spring provide the same function, but the shape is an L as opposed a to straight line.
Swing Check Valves work with any straight line piping installation. Angle check valves are applicable in instances where the flow needs to change direction at the check valve. Use this valve where you would otherwise use a piping elbow.
