Hello valve gurus,Do you think Full opening check valves are supposed to be installed horizontally too?GLOBE VALVEClearance between body and disc is very small for these valves compared to regular swing check valve.SAFETY VALVES Any little intolerance at the hinge pin joint will cause the disc to drop a little on the body.Any of you came across such problem before?PLUG VALVESThanks in advance .You are going to have to give us more information about this "Full Opening Check Valve".Most of us are familiar with the following- Swing Check Valves- Wafer(Single and Double Disc) Check Valves- Ball Check Valves- Piston Check Valves (also called Lift Check Valves).But I have no idea what you mean by "Full Opening Check Valve" MUD VALVES To dd to my previous post, I think the reason our customer wants to install horizontally is because that way it easier to run a pig as the weight of the disc wouldn't play a major role. Valve orientation is something which, in first instance, the manufacturer has to bear in mind and confirm, and in second instance, REDUCING VALVESthe field engineers after reviewing the manufacturer's spec sheet. That goes for both the orientation as well as whether the valve is piggable or not.
