I am interested in reverse engineering of solenoid valve.Please anyone throw light on solving the follwing problems

In Poppet type check valve how to determine dimension, the distance the poppet rises out of its seat.I am intersted in calculating correct amount of lift for aerospace application.
And i have one more question,how to calculate orifice diameter.As i am having details of flow upstream pressure,pressure drop,leakage rate.

This is a very specialized area of expertise and even more complicated when it comes to aerospace due to the space limits for the valve.
